Weatherhead Butchers meat counter

So near and not so SPAR!

We have decided to join forces with the SPAR chain to serve our customers in the Wharfedale area. Our high street shop in Grassington is closing but by partnering with the SPAR we can offer longer and better opening times and can keep our prices competitive, whilst not having to compromise on the quality of our produce, which is always our first priority.

We are now available 7 days a week:
6.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Saturday
10.00am to 4.00pm Sunday

Available in the fridges prepacked un 10.00pm everyday

Can and see us!

Weatherhead’s Black Pudding is heading to London…

To be fair we always though our black pudding was exceptional; we thought we might be a little bit biased, but apparently not! If Michael Roux and The Dorchester love it, it can’t be just us can it. Our secret recipe Black Pudding heads its way south weekly to grace the tables in these and other fine establishments in London and as a new super food, it could be munch on by the rich and famous – well definitely the rich. Not sure if you get Yorkshire portions down there but you will certainly get the full flavour when these top chefs have finished with it!

Happy customers make us happy too!

Christmas is always a busy time for butchers and we are no exception, so it’s always nice to get messages from happy customers from far and wide, here’s just a couple we received this Christmas.

2 parcels of food arrived this morning and the food all looked fantastic.

I have just arrived home and am tucking in to one of the smaller pork pies…absolutely the best I have ever tasted; and I have been eating pork pies at Christmas time for many, many years [ I am late 60s]

I am cooking a gammon and sausages tomorrow to take to friends on Xmas Eve; and can’t wait to try the bacon.

I will tell everyone I know – a very large number of people…about you, your superb food and excellent service.

You have certainly helped make a perfect Christmas for me.

Thank you so very much and best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.

Margaret Dutton.

Apologies for the preamble that follows, but it will make sense (eventually)!!

We moved into a village in Bedfordshire in the summer and in a neighbouring village found a nice family butchers.  We like their meat, home made sausages, bacon and pies and since finding them have not bought any supermarket meat at all.  We thought they were excellent.

That is until we came to Grassington!  We pre-ordered our Xmas turkey and gammon from you and collected on 23 December.  We also bought sausages, bacon and gala pie.  It was all amazing. It was the best turkey we’ve ever had; the bacon and sausages were to die for (so much so we had to buy loads before we came home) and the gala pie was outstanding.

Thank You – and congratulations on the superb quality of all of your products.

Anne & Peter Norton

Wishing all our customers a healthy and happy new year.

Weatherhead’s – Do the Double

Yorkshiremen are noted for both being sceptical and looking after their money. Andrew Weatherhead is true to that philosphy so when someone offered him free hot water he both tempted but suspicious.

Taking a leap of faith Andrew had a DK Heat 120 litre capacity storage tank with a 6kW internal heat exchanger. The system installed by The Jordan Group Manchester stores 120 litres of free hot water which can be replenished every hour. The system was so successful that Andrew has recently had another system fitted at his Pateley Bridge Shop. The new system also has a 120 litre storage capacity and a 120 litre an hour hot water production capacity.

The heat exchanger is double twin wall design which ensures that even in a failure situation that the refrigerant and water can never come into contact with one another. This is a legal requirement under EN1717 for any business handling food.

The system is simplicity itself, maintenance free, having no moving parts it is highly efficient due to the innovative design of the heat exchangers that can remove up to 100% of the energy produced by the refrigeration plant.

DK believe that there is no better testimony to the systems efficiency and cost saving than the approval of a canny Yorkshireman.
